One cannot, must not, shall not underestimate the power of a good cup of coffee. (!)
It can make a difference between life and death. Sleepiness and wakefulness. A cup can perk up your day, chase away the cobwebs of a Z-monster, make the air smell fresher, the colours more vibrant, birds sound sweeter... wait, cut the last three, that's when two lovebirds meet.
The Ya Kun branch near my workplace had a change of the kopi uncle. With that, the afternoons at work became slower, draggier and monotonous. The new uncle's kopi just didn't match up to the old one. Where the old one was rich in aroma, taste and texture, the new one was bland, weak and downright watery. 'Give me kopi or give me death!' my mind screamed. Came one day, my heart leapt for joy. My feet became lighter and workdays were meaningful: The Kopi Uncle was back. Never again, will I take the arcane skills of kopi making for granted and will always, and always remember to be thankful that he's around :)
